Toby Grundy - JW Brands Ambassador

Toby Grundy is a fishing journalist and Canberra local who has been writing for a variety of fishing publications over the past decade. He regularly contributes feature articles to Freshwater Fishing magazine and Fishing Monthly. Toby also pens the Canberra column for NSW Fishing Monthly and covers the tournament scene in and around the Australian Capital Territory.

Toby is also the founder of the popular Capital Fisho website, blog and social media channels which host fishing reports, fishing advice, fishing news and tackle reviews for the ACT and Canberra region. He holds a degree in Professional Writing from the University of Canberra and is also a senior high school teacher in the ACT.
Toby’s primary fishing focus is native fishes in the ACT and NSW. He spends every spare moment chasing Murray cod and golden perch in local waterways and is addicted to surface fishing for Murray cod. Toby is also a huge fan of light-tackle finesse tactics for chasing golden perch and redfin and commonly uses a variety of blade and soft plastic techniques for success. Toby’s fishing exploits also encompass saltwater and estuary fishing on the NSW coast for species such as bream, flathead and kingfish.

An active kayak angler, Toby also enjoys exploring freshwater and estuary habitats with his yak and Watersnake electric motor. He especially loves fishing adventures targeting wild river bass in the pristine waters of the NSW south coast. Toby also competes in several fishing competitions including the Whitehead Memorial Challenge.
