Freedom Hawk

Freedom Hawk Kayaks was founded by American angler and design engineer Dave Cameron. In the 1980s Dave started fishing from sea kayaks and quickly realised a kayak’s advantage over a canoe in windy conditions and for the solo fisherman.

In the early ’90s Dave set out to design a better fishing craft—a stable kayak with performance. Pulling from his fishing, kayaking and mechanical design experience, Dave created several prototypes that were later refined into what we now know as the Freedom Hawk and the Freedom 14: a kayak that can take you from paddling to stand-up fishing in seconds—a perfect marriage of stability and performance—the Ultimate Fishing Kayak.

Dave and his team of outdoor enthusiasts have gone on to develop other clever models in the Freedom Hawk Kayak range, plus a full range of kayak and fishing accessories.
